Kendall - Lead Vocal

Kendall is a founding member of 4tified.

Kendall has been singing in church since he was five years old.  His love of music was evident in his childhood and he grew up listening to Bill and Gloria Gaither, Keith Green, The Second Chapter of Acts and the Imperials.  During an evangelistic campaign in a little country church in North Waldoboro, Maine, Kendall gave his heart to the Lord at the age of twelve.  Before graduating from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA with a degree in Church Music, he answered the call of God to devote his life to a ministry through music.

Kendall has always loved four-part male harmony and sang in a gospel quartet while in college.  After serving for several years as a Minister of Music full time, Kendall felt God leading him in a different direction.  Not understanding what God had in mind for him, he began to attend a small rural church in Northern Virginia.  It did not take him long to recognize the enormous amount of talent found there.  Just a few short months later, four men began singing the praises of God together. This was the foundation of the ministry now known as 4tified.

Kendall and his wife, Beth Anne, have two daughters, Laura Beth and Mikayla. Kendall is an ordained Deacon of Music in the Church of the Nazarene and serves as Minister of Special Events and Programs at the Loudoun Valley Church of the Nazarene in Hillsboro, VA.  He is also employed as a Program Manager with Learning Tree International.

Kendall's favorite verse since childhood has been "In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6

Kevin - Baritone Vocal

Kevin joined 4tified in December 2006.

Kevin was born and raised in a small town in Ohio. There he met his wife in church and they have been married for 20 wonderful years. They have 2 daughters (Hannah, Faith) and 1 son (Jacob), and they currently reside in Hamilton, VA. Since moving to Virginia after college, Kevin has “paid the bills” by working in many different positions in software development. He currently works for Software AG in Reston, VA.

Kevin has been singing in church since he was little and continued singing throughout high school and college in choruses, as well as a performing Madrigal group. Kevin has also been involved with Barbershop singing, and that is where he met Dave. Since then, Kevin and his family began attending church with Dave, Brian, Chris, and 4tified founding member Kevin Stone. They did some quartet special music and that eventually led to Kevin joining 4tified.

Kevin grew up in the church with loving, faith-filled parents, and he rededicated his life to Christ in 1991. Kevin is an advocate of memorizing scripture and "putting on the full armor of God", including "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". His favorite Chapter in the Bible is James 1, which among other things tells us to "not merely listen to the word", but ... "do what it says."

Dave - Bass Vocal

Dave joined 4tified in September 2004.

Dave started singing with church choirs in his early teens, progressed on to high school and college vocal groups, but was not introduced to Southern Gospel music until he had an interesting phone call one day in late 2004 (ask him to share this story with you).  Dave also sings with Dominion 4, a barbershop quartet and with Valley Trouveres, a mixed a cappella quartet.

Dave is the Managing Partner for Updegrove, Combs, McDaniel and Wilson, CPAs.  He is blessed to have business partners who strive to create a workplace that brings glory to God, with regular men’s and women’s Bible studies and monthly forums with other Christian businessmen held at their offices.

Dave and his beautiful wife, Lynne, have two grown daughters and five grandchildren (so far).  Dana and her husband Robbie Reider, who is a producer with Vineyard Music in Houston, have a son, Olson and a daughter, Avery.  Their other son, Ian David, has gone to be with The Lord.  Kindra and her husband Mike, who is a web site designer in Atlanta, have a son, Julian and a daughter, Aila Lynne.

Chris - Tenor Vocal

Chris joined 4tified in June 2006.

The youngest member of 4tified, he and Kendall both have degrees in music. For most of Chris’ formative years he lived in western Loudoun County, Virginia, starting to play the piano at age 5 and singing his own special blend of self-composed songs.

In addition to a love of music,  desiring to pursue a career in music making, Chris set out for the windy city and higher education at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music outside Chicago, IL. There he expanded his musical horizons and learned a great deal about music-making and faith. Perhaps most significantly, Chris met his wife, Carrie, there and they were married just 3 weeks after graduation.  Chris and Carrie live in Lovettsville, VA and have four children: Gabriella, Savannah, Hudson, and Acadia.

Chris' favorite verse is actually an entire Psalm - Psalm 1 to be exact. "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night..."

Brian - Keyboard

Brian joined 4tified in July 2005. The guys are thrilled to have him in the group as the piano player/sound guy/guitar tech (what is he?!). He also plays bass during praise and worship.

Brian was raised in Ohio and the Nazarene church and is steeped in hymns, southern gospel music and contemporary praise & worship. He enjoyed singing in a small quartet in rural Ohio before joining the military.

He met and fell in love with his lovely wife Lynn and has been happily married for 23 years. They have 3 beautiful children on earth (Luke, Hannah and Emmaline) and one waiting across the river in heaven (Leilia). Brian is a software engineer at an IT company and was a PT worship pastor/leader for a local church for 8 years.

Steve - Electric/Acoustic Guitar

Steve joined 4tified in 2006. He is a native of Northern Virginia, growing up in the area of Bull Run.

After college he joined the family business, Craven Tire, in 1978, and worked there until it was sold in August of 2007.  Steve has been playing guitar for thirty-five years. While at Eastern College, he played with bands around the Philadelphia area. During that time he began collecting guitars. His collection now amounts to over 60 classic guitars, such as Fender, Gibson, and Gretsch, in addition to more than 30 guitar amplifiers.

Steve’s greatest joy is using his love for the guitar in worship of the Lord. He played in praise bands at McLean Bible Church and Cornerstone Chapel. He is currently on the worship team at Destiny Church in Leesburg. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Gay, thirty-four years ago. They have five children, two of whom are still at home, and eight grandchildren.

Bob - Bass Guitar

Bob joined 4tified in October of 2007. He calls himself “the boring guy of the group,” though the other members of the group would not agree with that statement.

Bob is a native of Northern Virginia, growing up in the Falls Church area. He started playing bass guitar when he was 13, picked up the six-string guitar at 15 and just kept adding more instruments. He also plays the dobro, mandolin, and harmonica.  Over the years he has played in jazz, rock, and folk groups. In addition, he has served on the worship teams of several churches.

Out of all the different kinds of music he has played, Bob especially loves playing for the Lord.  Bob has been married to his wonderful wife, Joyce, for 31 years. They have three grown children. Bob and Joyce currently attend Purcellville Baptist Church in Purcellville, VA. In the past, Bob served for thirteen years as a volunteer youth leader at Grace Bible Church in Hamilton, VA. He works as a Network Engineer for the Government.

John - Drums

John joined 4tified in 2006.  By the time he could walk John had already started to pound on anything he could get his hands on.  He began taking drum lessons at age nine and was playing in a concert band the next year.  John played all types of percussion through his high school years and participated in “garage” bands playing rock and roll at local parties, but never really took it seriously.

After graduating from high school, John put down his drum sticks, thinking he would never play again.   He decided to dust off the cobwebs of his rhythmic talent after a 20 year break and started playing at Purcellville Baptist Church with Brian Busch and Bill Crist in 1999.

John and his wife Molly, have three grown children and live six miles south of Purcellville.  John owns a marketing company in Leesburg, Virginia called Unity Business Solutions.
